14 Killed In Bar Shootout In South Africa: Police

Johannesburg: Fourteen individuals have been killed throughout a shootout in a bar in South Africa's Soweto township, near Johannesburg, police stated Sunday. "We were called in the early hours of the morning, around 12:30 am (2230 GMT)," stated police lieutenant Elias Mawela after the taking pictures in a single day Saturday and Sunday. "When we arrived on the scene, 12 people were confirmed dead," he stated. Mawela stated 11 others have been taken to hospital with wounds however two later died, elevating the toll to 14. The bar was within the Orlando district of Soweto, Johannesburg's largest township, southeast of the capital.
